GE Energy présente son nouveau système de gazéification conçu pour les projets de grande ampleur

Cette nouvelle offre s’adapte en particulier à l’industrie de transformation chimique du charbon. Elle permet de répondre à la demande des clients désireux d’augmenter le rendement de production d’énergie pour atteindre leurs objectifs. D’une capacité d’environ 50m3, le nouveau système de gazéification est particulièrement adapté aux installations de grande ampleur, telles qu’on les trouve en Chine.


Belfort, France – 08 avril 2009 - Responding to customers seeking larger output to meet their production targets, GE Energy introduces the 1,800 cubic foot High Capacity Quench Gasifier. As industrial gasification projects grow larger, especially in China, customers are looking for increased capacity.

Offering a coal throughput of ~3,000 metric tons per day and syngas (hydrogen +CO) production of ~210,000 Nm3/hr (normal cubic meters per hour), the new gasifier builds on the platforms of GE Energy’s reliable 450 ft3 and 900 ft3 quench gasifiers, used in industrial gasification applications worldwide. The larger size offers a cost-effective gasification solution that simplifies operations and enables customers to reduce capital and operating costs by decreasing the number of gasification trains required for today’s large chemical projects.

“The 1,800 ft3 High Capacity Quench Gasifier is configured to help meet the demand for higher capacity that we are seeing from our customers,” said Marcus Scholz, GE Energy IGCC Expert. “This larger size gasifier is based on technology proven in the field and continues our long tradition of quality technology.”

GE Energy’s 1,800 ft3 High Capacity Quench Gasifier will be particularly attractive to customers in China. The country’s expansion is driving an increase in the size of many coal-to-chemicals plants. Much of the equipment for plants built with GE Energy gasification license technology is fabricated locally in China.

GE Energy is a world leader in the development and commercialization of gasification technology, which has been used for six decades in the production of chemicals including ammonia, hydrogen and methanol.

Currently, there are 65 gasification plants licensed by GE Energy in commercial operation worldwide, with an additional 20 in engineering and/or construction phases.

Gasification converts coal into a fuel called synthesis gas, or syngas. The syngas has a variety of uses including the production of chemicals, fertilizers and power generation. Gasification allows the use of China’s abundant domestic coal reserves for energy and industrial applications.
